#72 Aah, Sunshine

This Quimper Arts model looked like he should be standing in sunlight, and it's certainly pouring in.    Acrylic on paper, 11"x8".

#69 Nutmeg

Freshly grated nutmeg, and a jar of cinnamon. For me, this painting is also about trying to allow the items to fit in to their painty surroundings.  Acrylic on 6"x6" panel.

#68 Butter

Following Cats, I had a request to paint Rats, but chose Fats.  Butter and oil.  Acrylic on 5"x5" panel.
(for a serious butter painting, look at this  - thanks to Lindy)!

And speaking of Cats, I repainted the surroundings because they seemed too pale last night:

#65 Pampas Plumes

I won't be going to the Quimper figure session today, so I painted an outside view instead.  We planted these so-called dwarf pampas grasses a few years ago, and the plumes are 9-10 feet tall.  They only last a few months, so we just enjoy them while they're there.  Acrylic on 5"x5" panel.

#64 Popcorn

I bought this organic popcorn at Nash's farm store out in Dungeness.  It's so good, it doesn't even need any topping or salt!   Acrylic on 5"x5" panel.

#63 Purple Door

This is an alley in Port Angeles that was spruced up last year by volunteers- they painted some of the buildings a variety of colors.  It's a cool spot.  Acrylic on 6"x6" panel.

#60 Veggies

This painting went through so many incarnations- the bag of onions is the only part that stayed constant.  Let's see, there was a German stein, some apples, a vase with flowers, the cabbage was in a different place, and there were puffy clouds.  Tomorrow I'm going back to a 6" x 6" !  This is oil on canvas panel, 8"x10".

#59 Turkey Shaker

This painting got a little more colorful than I planned, but the turkey looks happy.  Oil on 6" x 6" panel.

#58 Quimper Model

I went to the Quimper Arts life drawing session this afternoon, and painted this model.  I put her on the top of a building, perhaps in New York.  I think that the design made by the step ladder behind her head makes her look a little like the Statue of Liberty.  Oil on 6" x 6" panel.

#57 Baja Cove

Non-realistic alert!  Sometimes these happen, just like the last one.. Oil on 6"x7" panel.

#52 Kitchen View

I decided to paint in the house today- in the dining room and looking through the old saloon doors to the kitchen.  In real life, the light switch panel does not have "m"s on it.  Acrylic on 8"x8" panel.

#49 Village Street

First the background was darker, then lighter, then darker, and lighter, and finally more indistinct.  Acrylic on 6" x 6" panel.

#47 John Day River, big version

Here is the big version- acrylic on 22" x 28" stretched canvas.  Whew!  I may make minor changes later, after letting it hang on the wall for a while.

I'm working on a large painting today: 22 x 28".  It's not done, so I'm posting a photo instead- of Roger taking art photos at Memory's Vault last year.
