#389 Moltenography

This is the other painting accepted into the Alchemy of the Abstract VI show at Northwind.  It was difficult to photograph because it has metallic silver paint in some areas, and the light caught it differently depending on the angle of the molding paste underneath and the location on the board.  This is pretty much like the original except the lower left metallic area looks darker.  Acrylic, 16" x 12".

#386 Kettle River Repainted

It was a little drizzly today so I painted in the studio.  This was painted over the plein air version done about 4 years ago in Canada.  The original seemed pale, and some white paint had gotten stuck on it.  I like this version better- oil, 12" x 16".

#385 Burnt Hill in Spring

This mountain got its name a long time ago, because I've never seen it looking burnt.  Logged, yes.  Painted this morning under a changing sky, with two PT painters.  The potential for rain kept the rest in PT, and it did pour starting around noon.  Now there's thunder.  Oil, 9" x 12"

A different set of rhodies, on a cloudy day.  No solvent used- just the oil paint, 3 stiff brushes and a painting knife.  12" x 16".

#383 Rhodies and Fog

This is my first oil plein air of the year.  The rhodies are blooming and there's a light fog over the water, looking northwest.  9" x 12".
